Re: Pitbull Attack Turns Floor into a Pool of Blood
I would just like to state... I agree. I witnessed a normally WONDERFUL rottie, very friendly female, same as the story of great owners, never had any issues...etc etc etc... I witnessed in the blink of an eye, this dog bite a 7 year old boy in the face. The boy was only petting the dog on both ears... but unfortunately, while doing so, the boy was staring the dog down with direct eye contact while doing so. I would say the fault lie with the owners in this case for not recognizing the issue because I was standing right there and as soon as I saw this young boy staring the dog in the face, I KNEW something was going to happen and immediately called his name to take him home. But it happened before I could finish saying his name. If it were an adult, I would say it were equal fault... you should know better than to stare a dog down like that with direct eye contact... especially a rottie. Most people do not tho and do not care to educate themselves on animal behavior or body language . It was a sad situation all around but the boy turned out fine, with just a split upper lip and a few scratches.

None of you know the story behind this. Let's not jump to jackass solutions when we don't know what we're talking about, hm? |

Re: Pitbull Attack Turns Floor into a Pool of Blood
Most dog owners i know tells me those incidents happens to any breed of dog when they feel hurt, starving, threatened or something that will put them on protection mode. Only thing bad about pit bulls, rotts and so, is that they're more powerful than other dogs and repelling their attacks will need a lot of effort. Other breed can be turned away with a simple kick to the stomach or a more dominating yell. with pitts, when their jaw clamps down, what's in between will usually break or tear. I love dogs but i still prefer flap down eared dogs rather than standing up pointed eared dogs. anger tolerance of the first group is higher that the second group... (That's as i was told. anyone who know better, i'd love to learn from you. Tnx)
