Re: Peter Smedley Assisted Suicide
Nice video. I also think that person has right to decide if they want to live or die for whichever reason. Its their life huh? Although it would irresponsible in some cases like having children but I'm talking about sober decision and not fleeing.

Re: Peter Smedley Assisted Suicide
very heartbreaking, I can't imagine sitting by my wife's side while waiting for her to die voluntarily. But then again if she were terminally ill there's no way I would be so selfish as to try to stop her... +1 on the quality of the film...a little HD wouldn't have hurt! |

Re: Peter Smedley Assisted Suicide
Very moving. I would think the vast majority of people on this forum agree that we have the right to choose a dignified exit, as this man has done, especially when the only alternative is to suffer continuously until the end. I know someone that's terminally ill at the moment. First he lost control of his bowels and bladder. Then his legs. Then his arms. When he loses his ability to speak he will have a couple of days left. He's been horribly depressed and pumped full of as much morphine as his body can take, without killing him, and he's still in pain. It's heartbreaking to see someone suffer like this. |

Re: Peter Smedley Assisted Suicide
This Man has my total respect! I was at A&E last night and some poor man died with his wife and daughter waiting outside the Resuscitation Room, when the Dr said he died it was like listening to a horror movie...except much much worse! It was streaks of howling despair, something I shall never forget! This Man had death on His terms, something which is seldom the case! RIP!

Re: Peter Smedley Assisted Suicide
I agree with most everyone posting. I have nothing but respect for Mr. Smedley in his decision to go on his own terms, peacefully. And for his wife for standing by his decision and being there for him the entire time, being strong. |
