You and me both, its the same in the uk you wouldn't ever get that close unless you're actually involved or close enough before police arrive but they're pretty quick, and if you got caught taking videos of the dead and injured you'd be arrested pretty quick also

But you know what this makes me realize? I got caught behind a horrible accident in Georgia in April of 2005. We were on the highway and I suddenly saw all this black smoke. Traffic stopped and we didn't move a single inch in 5 hours. We were so confused as to why we weren't allowed to pass. I got out and tried to get some info, but police were very adamant about keeping us onlookers away. I was told by another bystander that they were looking for a finger. A few people were pronounced dead at the scene. Anyway...this makes me realize I'm glad that in the U.S. the police usually keep the public away from sights like this. It seems annoying, but when I think about what horrors car accidents hold, I would rather get re-routed or stopped than see something like this video.
