Pensioner Was Crushed to Death by a Front Loader
The pensioner Luiz, 71, died when he was hit by a front loader this morning. He walked down the sidewalk when he was crushed by the vehicle, whose engine stopped working, leaving the vehicle out of control. According to police, the accident happened around 10 o'clock. The front loader was driven by a 64-year-old man working on that same sloping street. According to him, during the work, the engine of the tractor turned off. When this happenrf, the gearbox, the brakes and the front loader stopped working. Uneven, the vehicle went down the street, toward the sidewalk on the right. The machine operator told the cops that as the tractor approached the sidewalk, he saw the old man walking, and in desperation started screaming to get his attention. However, the victim did not hear him and was run over. The tractor stopped after hitting the wall of two homes. The Fire Department rescue team went to the scene, but the old man was already dead. The driver of the front loader was in shock and had to be taken to the hospital for medical attention. After being medicated, he returned to the site and agreed to provide blood for an alcohol test. Luiz, who had his body crushed, resided in the street near the spot where he was run over. |

Front end loaders don't just lose their brakes when engine power is lost. Substandard brakes would be a more likely cause for the runaway. Now, it is possible for the transmission to be in neutral and with the engine off, it may have been impossible to get the transmission in to a gear. This phenomenon can happen with large commercial trucks too. To successfully shift a large commercial truck transmission, engine RPM, transmission speed and rear axle speed all must be synced by the driver.

You're talking about floating gears. You can stop a truck even with it in neutral and engine off by pulling the parking brake. When it goes pop, the trailer should dump too or someones a shitty mechanic. |
