Pedestrian Killed when Tire Shop Explodes
Mexico. An explosion at a tire repair shop left one man dead and two others injured, one of them seriously. According to reports, the events occurred around 5:47 p.m., at the premises in the Antonio Cárdenas neighborhood, in Saltillo, Coahuila. There, the compressor suddenly exploded and several objects were thrown out into the street. Paramedics arrived after being alerted and found G. A. Ramos, 31, dead, while two other workers were hospitalized. Forensic experts from the prosecutor's office arrived to begin the investigation and find out how the accident happened, although it was preliminarily stated that it could have been due to a lack of maintenance on the machine. These types of businesses often operate without precise regulations, and many of them use old and poorly maintained machinery. |

And the rate of inflation is a real killer! Hopefully the survivors were standing by the side wall. |

Re: Pedestrian Killed when Tire Shop Explodes
gas accumulation also. A gas leak occurred inside the building after hours. Because the shop was tightly closed, the escaping gas could not vent into the open air, instead, it pooled inside, filling the room until it reached a highly volatile concentration. Even in a closed shop, automated electrical systems remain active. A sudden spark, maybe from an automated air compressor cycling on, fridge or a minor electrical short, ignited the trapped gas cloud. |
