Re: Oslo (Norway) - Bomb explosion & Shooting Aftermath

you seriously think a radical interpretation of Christ's teachings influenced this man ??
Uh... yes. What's so hard to believe about that? Nearly every damn religion out there preaches some sort of hatred towards a specific group or groups of people. Muslims, Christians, Jews, atheists, gays, minorities, etc. are all CONSTANTLY attacked by other religions.
Do some research. Hitler, KKK, Westboro Baptist Church. Plenty of examples out there.

G.W. Bush, 9/11: "We're gonna hunt you down." Stoltenberg, 7/22: "We will retaliate with more democracy". Proud to be norwegian ♥
Thats the kind of attitude that will GUARANTEE more attacks on you.
Thats why Norway is weak, and USA is strong. Survival of the fittest, you will not survive.

as an atheist i find all religion a threat to human progress.however some religions are more synonymous with violence that others.Christianity is full of shit, but at least Jesus was a good role model.while Mohammad was a terrorist himself back in the day.
there was a time when the church had too much power.we call it the "dark ages".Christianity went through reformation but Islam didn't. the jihad terrorists are simply following the example of their prophet ,they even quote passages from the Koran to justify their crimes..you couldn't do that with teachings of Jesus.Jesus was a peaceful man, more like a hippie..but Mohammad was a psychotic mass murderer.
you have to make a distinction between a lone shooter and a global concerted effort(radical islam).

Re: Oslo (Norway) - Bomb explosion & Shooting Aftermath

on another note, I hope that everyone in Norway is going to be able to move past this...fuckin' terrible. When I heard about this yesterday all I could think was "NORWAY!?" I'm one of the people who never would have guessed that something like this would happen there :(

Re: Oslo (Norway) - Bomb explosion & Shooting Aftermath

Christianity is full of shit, but at least Jesus was a good role model. while Mohammad was a terrorist himself back in the day. you couldn't do that with teachings of Jesus. Jesus was a peaceful man, more like a hippie.. but Mohammad was a psychotic mass murderer.
Assuming Jesus actually existed, the fact that he was "peaceful" doesn't matter because people will use just about every OTHER part of the Bible to justify their extremist actions and opinions. You will rarely see any radical christians quoting Jesus - they usually stick with the Old Testament.
there was a time when the church had too much power. we call it the "dark ages". Christianity went through reformation but Islam didn't.
Just because Christianity still managed to flourish after the "dark ages" doesn't mean it went through any actual reformation. Sure, they started preaching their beliefs a little differently so people wouldn't get so pissed off at them, but that doesn't mean their actual beliefs changed. They just made themselves look slightly less hateful and bigoted towards others. And even if there was reformation, it still doesn't matter because with all the denominations in Christianity, very few follow the same hierarchy. So it doesn't matter if "the Church" officially announced something, because people believe what they want to believe and interpret the Bible however they see fit.
With that being said, just because Islam doesn't have a documented "reformation" doesn't mean every Muslim still believes what they believed centuries ago.
Point being, a religion having a documented "reformation" doesn't mean anything. At all. EVER. Extremists - whether they're religiously or politically motivated - act individually. Even within a group, they interpret things on their own level. To judge an entire group based on one person's actions - Christian OR Muslim (or otherwise) is being just as ignorant as the religious.
the jihad terrorists are simply following the example of their prophet ,they even quote passages from the Koran to justify their crimes.
Are you implying radical Christians don't quote their own literature and religious doctrine? There's plenty of hate in the Bible to justify their actions. Educate yourself:

you have to make a distinction between a lone shooter and a global concerted effort(radical islam).
True, but you're assuming all global concerted efforts are the result of radical Islam. As I said before, it's not ridiculous in any way to assume this could be motivated by his Christian beliefs.
Most of the time, if it's not religious beliefs as a motive, its political beliefs - and they often go hand-in-hand with eachother (although ideally they shouldn't).

Jesus-fucking-Christ, for an "atheist" you sure do sound like an anti-Muslim, bigoted, nationalist American...
read: Christian.
