Re: Optical Cable Worker Electrocuted on the Job
That's a REALLY good question! ALL they should have going through them is light signals. Photons are non-electrical. But maybe he disconnected the wrong cable, and spilled the electricity out |

We use to have one of these at home when I was a kid, it looked and sounded the same when you were electrocuting a hotdog. |

Re: Optical Cable Worker Electrocuted on the Job
It's plausible to be fiber. Some fiber drop cable has a tracer wire included for easily locating/toning. He pauses briefly before he gets cooked. Perhaps the cable snagged on something then flew upward into the high voltage wire? Or perhaps he felt the tingle before the insulation completely broke down? |

Re: Optical Cable Worker Electrocuted on the Job
I had one of those "Magic Wonder Wiener Cookers", but the one we had didn't have that fancy cover on it to prevent electrocution. Ours was from the 1960's, It was like front row seats at the State Penitentiary when they fired up "Old Sparky! |
