Re: Oldschool Electric Chair
This scene is from the VHS tape "Faces of death I" The one presented by Dr. Gröss So we can easily state it is a : FAKE!!! If in doubt take the following details into consideration: 1.- There are no sponges wet with brine on his head and leg, the skin will burn when not used and there is bad conduction of electricity between the electrodes, current must run from head to leg. 2.- They didn't cover his face with the leather mask so he does not throws the contents of his stomach out. 3- The faces of all involved were not covered 4.- Excessive zoom in-out and blur effect to add drama.(unnnecessary if it was the real thing |

Re: Oldschool Electric Chair
As for the legitimacy of electric chairs I think they should crowdfund executions and let the crowd decide from a host of creative options. Everyone who puts up $10 or more gets to vote on a method of execution and gets invited to PPV livestream in 4K. Then auction their bones 1 at a time and all proceeds go to the victim's families. |

Re: Oldschool Electric Chair
It is most definitely fake. The first time I encountered this clip the description said it was filmed by request of the warden of a prison in the "Midwest" in the 1970's. There was only one execution by electric chair in that entire decade thanks to the national moratorium on the death penalty. And that one electric chair execution took place in 1979 in Florida. And that video is definitely not Florida's death chamber. Also, there were no sponges, no face covering, and the head wasn't shaved. All standard in electric chair executions. |
