Re: Oldschool Electric Chair
Some human rights activist have a heart and are sympathetic to the prisoners on death row. Regardless of the crime they committed to get themselves placed on death row, they still think they have a right to live, even though the death row inmate has taken life/lives themselves. We can save lots of money by using some nylon ropes.. No power required, swift snap of the cervical spine to cause instant death, and the rope is reusable. I have no pitty/sympathy for the fuckers that landed themselves on death row. If they committed murder, they should be subjected to the same fate as their victims... It is what it is..... The message of human rights activist is understandable to some degree, however, we need to be fair, just, and swift when it comes to the death sentence. As far as treatment of the inmate is concerned, no need for torture, deprivation of vital needs, or inhumane acts to them till the death sentence is carried out. We need to give the message that if you take life, then your life will be taken as well, no if's, and's or but's... According to the Death Row Fact Sheet Death Penalty Information Center. June 19, 2014. Retrieved 2 July 2014. "As of October 1, 2013, there were 3,088 death row inmates in the United States". Each inmate in California cost $90k dollars annually to keep housed in the prisons. We could eliminate that debt to our nation and better utilize the money for the good of the people. We shouldn't waste our time and money taking care of these murderers. Giving them 3 hot's and a cot to live longer and consume more debt for our nation. Fuck That Shit.... KILL 'EM ALL |

Re: Oldschool Electric Chair
Bullets are cheap, Doc. I wish the US went with that method instead. Not only that, but they are ALWAYS effective right away unlike some cases of the chair and injection. More humane in my eyes too, but it's the mess it leaves behind that prevents people from doing it. As a non-US citizen, I always found it weird how long it takes people to get put to death once they are sentenced. Is it politics, ample time for a case to evolve, or what?

Re: Oldschool Electric Chair
Each inmate has a right for a fair trial, so the judicial system is what holds up many of the inmates that try to appeal the death sentence. Of course, we as a nation don't want to execute innocent people from being convicted. The appeals process is probably the one thing that keeps many of them alive.

Re: Oldschool Electric Chair
That makes sense, thanks for the info. There are still tons of cases where the person is........ guilty as FUCK - to put it lightly - and it still takes many years. Too bad they don't rank the cases on how much undeniable evidence there is and went ahead with it. You hear about innocent people being in prison all the time, but that's very much the minority. It's not a perfect world and shit happens. I'm all for killing them faster, the US prison system is overpopulated.

Re: Oldschool Electric Chair
Roger that and understood.... But, rope is cheaper than ammunition and it can be recycled without any changes to the integrity of the rope.. In theory, if a well made gallows platform with a trap door for the condemned is made, these assets can be utilized repeatedly. Just the housing cost of one inmate @ $90K in California can cover the cost of the construction of the gallows and the ropes. It pays for itself by the execution of one inmate. |

Re: Oldschool Electric Chair
And if it's built to proper height it will snap the neck instead of suffocate. That works, and so would a guillotine but that's too intense for people. I think the latter would be more humane |
