Old Slow Moving Man with Walking Stick Wants to Cross the Train Tracks
He had a stroke some time ago so he moves very slow/carefully. He detected the train but his reaction was too slow so he was grabbed by the train and died at the scene.

In the time that he took to turn around and individually place 2 feet and a cane over the rail, he could have dropped and rolled out of the hit zone. Old people are petrified of falling because it breaks their brittle bones, but he had no choice there: Fall or die.
