Old Man Falls Asleep, Falls Down a Well, and Dies
Ullal, Karnataka state, India 65-year-old W.M. died when he fell asleep while sitting at the edge of a well and fell backwards into the structure. Family members immediately lowered a ladder into the shallow well and recovered W., but he had died from a serious head injury. |

why would the camera move when he fell? assuming the well is in the earth, and maybe lined with stone or concrete, why would it even have made a sound or vibration?

I think that camera has a limited vertical pan feature triggered by motion, which defaults to the "up" position. The falling man and moving spectators cause the camera to pan down. At 0.50 the camera briefly returns to "up" when a woman is momentarily standing still at the well.
