I don't think it was a malfunction. I'm a licensed first-aider trained to use an AED. The AED will attempt to detect a shockable fibrillating heart rhythm, and will not send a shock if it doesn't find one. In this case he looks like he's been dead for a while. Looks like rigor was starting to set into his arms. So no shockable rhythm, and thus no shock. |
