An unidentified man was shot dead on Saturday morning by an off-duty officer whilst committing a robbery against a jogger.

The robber was riding pillion when he came off the bike, held the jogger at gunpoint, and demanded his belongings. However, shortly afterwards, the off-duty officer arrived at the scene and shouted at them, asking them to surrender.

The robber went back on his motorcycle and aimed at the officer, but was taken down and killed at the scene. His companion-in-crime fled the scene. Police have confirmed the officer acted in legitimate defence, and their focus is now to locate the other robber.
