Authorities are investigating the circumstances around a car-to-car shooting near a smoke shop in Valley Glen that killed two men and left another critically injured.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a shots fired call just after 10 p.m. Monday at Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Victory Boulevard. Video footage showed a BMW riddled with bullet holes in the parking lot.

The officers requested three ambulances to the smoke shop's parking lot near the scene, said LAPD Officer Matthew Cruz.

Authorities said one man was pronounced dead at the scene and a second man died at the hospital. A third victim remains in critical condition at the hospital.

One of the fatally wounded men was identified by the Los Angeles County coroner's office as A. S, 44, of Los Angeles. The name of the other fatally wounded man was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.

LAPD believes the survivor is the "possible" suspect in the shooting.

The investigation revealed that the shooting happened after an argument among a group of men broke out, which led to two men drawing guns and firing multiple shots.

Authorities also believe the argument and shooting may have stemmed from a car crash between a Mercedes SUV and a Mercedes sedan.

LAPD Captain Brian O'Connor said there were no other suspects being sought in connection with the shooting.
