Re: Nobody Cares
The kids obviously in shock, that leg is completely ruined, I cant get over that he tried to stand on it more than once. There isn't much outside of reassuring him and trying to stop blood loss they can do. Hell just trying to keep him from making it worse would do. |

Re: Nobody Cares
Are you an EMT? The average person witnessing such an event in a third world setting is not competent to do what you describe, except, perhaps for the last thing (although how effective even that would be is in question).

Re: Nobody Cares
Please think outside the box any normal bystander is capable of wrapping a simple t-shirt on that leg, keep the kid calm , and calling/waiting for assistance to arrive or even give the kid a ride to the ER.. Come on. Really .. Those few things that I described would control bleeding, prevent shock, and provide reassurance.. Don't have to be a qualified to do shit and still be able to accomplish everything. Really simple actions save lives and make a big differences then just standing there letting the kid bleed out and doing absolutely nothing... |

Re: Nobody Cares
Everything you say is reasonable to someone reflecting on the situation. Unfortunately what we saw in that vid is still typical in such settings. Sad, but typical. Whether because of indifference, class distinctions, fear of getting involved, or some combination of these. Yes, I've spent some time in Asia - years as a matter of fact.
