Anyway indeed, because they always call people rapists when they want to film themselves doing dreadful stuff to people just passing by. The reality probably sounded a little more like this...

Hell of a way to steal a bicycle from a guy, which reminds me, my father used to get up at 5 a.m. to bicycle across Cleveland, Ohio in the 1930's to visit his relatives across town. He left early because the ****** would be asleep at that time and wouldn't steal his bike and/or kill him. He had bad experiences with ******, like when they held a knife to his throat to steal his cash from selling newspapers to survive during the Great Depression.

Then, he got drafted into the US Army in 1944 and sent to Germany in 1945. The war ended. My dad was impressed, Germans, unlike ******, didn't try to kill him, in fact, they were completely lawful, despite the smell of dead bodies coming from the crushed buildings. You could pay them a half pack of cigarettes and they would take you where you needed to go in their car.

I picture a frontline, close bayonet combat, trenches and Mustard Gas, then suddenly someone starts waiving a package of cigarettes in the air--the super secret gold plated White Flag that is only ever unfurled once per War, but no War would ever have ended if it hadn't been unlocked from its 'Pringle-Can like' velvety enclosure.
It would be funny to sneak across enemy lines during a War, and just walk into someone else's base, or camp. "Hey, hey everybody! This sucks. I didn't know it was gonna be like this, I'm not cut out for any of this stuff--the noise, everyone yelling and exploding, so stinkily. I just need a ride to a corner store or something, somewhere quiet. All the guys over on my side are cranky, some bastard captain even tried to slap me when I asked to use his keys."
