A Nigerian footballer identified as K. collapsed and died while playing at the Green Field Football Ground in the Lekki area of Lagos, leaving families, friends and fans into mourning. The 31-year-old, who was not playing for any professional football team in Nigeria, died at about 6.30pm on Friday, 30 September. K. appeared totally exhausted and fell to the ground, with his playing teammates not immediately noticing his fall. When they eventually noticed something was wrong, they started pouring water on the head and face of K. before rushing him to the hospital. K. was rushed to Ever Care Hospital in Lekki where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. I see those compilation vids of football players (soccer where I'm from) overreacting to the smallest touch and pretending to be severely crippled, writhing on the ground. I wonder if the other players didn't react quickly due to them assuming he was crying wolf.
