New Zealand - Motorcyclist Death

This morning, in Auckland New Zealand

Source: https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3605...kland-motorway

One person has died after a truck and a motorcyclist collided on Auckland’s southern motorway during rush hour traffic on Friday morning.

Police confirmed that the motorcyclist had died.

They said an investigation would commence and were wanting to hear from anyone who saw the incident.

The crash occurred at 8am on south bound lanes of SH1 before the Greenlane on-ramp.

All southbound lanes were closed for much of the morning as first responders and the serious crash unit attended the scene, police said. The lanes have since reopened.

Police said they acknowledged the public’s understanding of the closure and said it was “a challenging scene for emergency responders to work through”.

One commuter told the NZ Herald they were disturbed by witnessing the aftermath of the incident.

“The sad part was every lane had to turn to one as we drove past and were forced to look,” they said. “Please be careful today everybody.”

Delays were still expected for Friday afternoon as the traffic backlog clears.

Although there is nothing left of him, in New Zealand the left is the right side of the road. Right?

Re: New Zealand - Motorcyclist Death

Well, no wonder he was on the wrong side of the road!
Unless he was traveling in the obverse direction.

Just trying to help.
