However, the reason the Feds can bring charges is that they believe they can convict him of Federal crimes. For example, he crossed State lines and used a suppressor that wasn't registered.

But this thread isn't about Mangione, it's a thread about what an illegal migrant did to somebody riding the subway in NYC.

Unless something about his immigration status makes it a Federal crime, and I don't think it does, what I said is still true.
