There is still very little information publicly available about this incident.

On September 10, 2025, there was a medical/police response at S-Bahn Erkner that halted S3 and RE1 traffic between Erkner and Berlin/Rahnsdorf. Local outlet Märkische Oderzeitung reported that, according to police, a person is believed to have thrown themself in front of a passing regional train; a death-investigation was opened.

No credible source thus far names the individual.

There was an official post on S-Bahn Berlin's Twitter about the interruption to service due to a "medical emergency." There is one comment to that post, saying the following:

"Finally write the truth and don't trivialize what just happened, we all have to carry on living with these images in our heads!!!"

I clicked on that user's profile and they also posted several other comments about this incident (in their posts they call the man an "Islamist", but because we don't actually know this and because it can be interpreted as racist I've instead used "Muslim" in the quoted posts):

"We live in Germany and not in Syria, just now a Muslim took his own life in front of us Erkner! This is supposed to be normal??? I'm not even German and I'm fed up with having these images in my head!!! There were children there who had to witness everything."

and

"Just in Erkner, a Muslim runs naked, singing his slogans and throwing himself in front of the train, how did we get to this point??? I was there and saw everything, so don't come at me with propaganda videos, all the evidence is available!!!"

and

"I hope people read this comment. Before 4 p.m., a Muslim in Erkner stripped naked, shouted slogans, and took his own life in front of us all. Why aren’t the media reporting on this? Why does the S-Bahn say it was an emergency doctor operation??"

and

"It was a Muslim, and they write emergency doctor deployment, he ran naked through Erkner, sang Muslim slogans, and then jumped in front of the train in front of us all !!!!!!"
