The Pa-O National Liberation Army (PNLA) says it has obtained video evidence showing that Myanmar junta troops and its Pa-O National Organisation (PNO) militia executed four of its fighters captured during a clash near Htee Sone village, Hsihseng Township, on January 13, 2024.

The footage, reportedly recently recovered from a captured junta soldier’s phone, shows the fighters standing with their backs against the junta soldiers in uniform.

Their hands were tied together before they were executed one by one. Another PNLA fighter was killed separately, bringing the total to five captured and executed.

“They didn’t shoot all five at once. One was killed elsewhere, while the other four were executed as seen in the video,”a PNLA spokesperson said.

“We have even captured PNO officers up to the commander level, and we have never mistreated or executed prisoners. We always comply with the laws of war,” he said.
