Re: Muskogee Police Officer Fatally Shoots Armed Man
I wonder what the protocol is for checking the suspect's vitals. This guy could've still been alive. It's like he just assumed the dude was dead.

The protocol is: 1. Don't be a low life Trayvon Martin Ghetto Trash Thug. 2. Don't make threats to murder people. 3. Don't carry around unpermitted concealed weapons. 4. Don't run from cops. 5. Don't point - or even appear that you might point - any kind of weapon at any cop at any time for any 'reason'. 6. Don't be a piece of sh*t *sshole in general. |

Re: Muskogee Police Officer Fatally Shoots Armed Man
Yes, the race card will be played here. But this was a clean shoot. The officer was calm and assessed his circs continuously. His actions were fluid and he responded to the suspect with a few lead suppositories. Goods shooting from the distance he was. What is inevitable is that all of the bystanders will make statements that aren't true (lie) about the officer's conduct and actions---not knowing the officer has a bodycam. All these people with video have met their match because they won't be able to edit footage to try to paint officer in bad light. And many officers will be exonerated in cases that they probably would have potentially been disciplined or fired or even arrested for if not for the camera. Even Jesse and Al can't argue with video.

Re: Muskogee Police Officer Fatally Shoots Armed Man
If he dropped the gun and kept running then the officer wouldn't be able to shoot him then and there. But since the suspect already showed the means, opportunity, and intent to kill, the officer would be justified to use deadly force if the subject even looked like he was going to attack again. Warning shots are forbidden by 99% of police stations. They were doing more harm than good by hitting bystanders/property and sometimes it even escalates the situation if you're dealing with violent suspects or mentally unstable. Leg shots are also ineffective because the adrenaline can keep them going forever. The hip also has to be shot in a pretty precise location to make someone drop especially if they are on some drugs. That was overly long. Hopefully I didn't sound like a bitch nugget. |

Re: Muskogee Police Officer Fatally Shoots Armed Man
I give cops a lot of hell when I see police brutality or see trigger-happy adrenaline junkies who happen to carry a badge. This is not one of those times. Justified shooting in my opinion. And this is a prime example of why ALL cops should be required to wear body cameras.
