The mutilated body of an Odia album artiste was found under a bridge of the Mahanadi River near Goira Matha two days ago.

The deceased identified as S.S. has acted in several Sambalpuri music videos.

Locals spotted the body in the morning and informed the police.

The body was lying with multiple injury marks on head and face. A leather bag was also found near the body.

Receiving information from the locals, the Burla police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.

Though the exact cause behind the death of the victim is yet to be ascertained, initial reports suggested it as ‘murder’.

A probe has been initiated into the incident.

The victim's mother Rani has alleged that her daughter was murdered by her husband Juga Suna as he didn't want to continue with the marriage and was threatening to marry another girl.

Rani further alleged that her daughter, who had tied the knot with Juga Suna against the family's wish in April last year, was physically and mentally tortured by her husband and his family members. She said that a case was also filed against them in Jharsuguda Police Station.

"My daughter has been killed as Juga Suna was not willing to continue with the marriage and was threatening to marry another girl," Rani said.

S.S. was returning from home after attending an event during which her family had lost contact with her.

Why not just do what every other guy does, and just go with the other girl anyway? Cause then HE would have ended up murdered and mutilated beside some railroad tracks.

Was she refusing to divorce?
Says she had been suffering DV from him and his family, and when you’re being abused like this behind closed doors, you can’t even figure out what the right thing to do for yourself is.
Like the husbands family. Hated her. Allowed their son to abuse her.
Could they have gone as far as demanding she leave, and if/when she did they wanted to punish her because she actually wanted to leave?
Just scenarios I’m coming up with.
These types of marriages and family relationships are scary AF.

My mom was married to my dad who abused her, his family hated my mom and even me. They even tried to demand my mom leave me in the wild to be eaten by animals.
No matter what my mom did for them, for my dad, they still hated her. She even went as far as paying for the schooling of children he had with other women while still married to my mom.
And I think about the past and maybe my mom had like some sort of Stockholm syndrome thing going on. Wanted to please these horrible people.

Anyway like I said, those are the scariest relationships and just upsetting this woman had to experience that.

I wonder if her parents tried to step in or because of tradition and “honor” told her to stay with him. (My moms parents also told her to stay with my dad even though they saw and knew of the violence their daughter was being put thru.)
