Municipal Engineer is Crushed to Death by Collapsing Road During an Inspection
Mae Rim, Chiang Mai, Thailand 56-year-old municipal engineer Prasert P. was inspecting a drainage pipe beneath a subsided road in a project area when, due to heavy rainfall and water leakage that had caused a cavity underneath the road, the ground collapsed, burying Prasert. Prasert and his team had been called to investigate the road, which had been damaged by a recent tropical storm. It took twenty minutes for Prasert's body to be recovered amidst the soil. He was taken to hospital, but died from multiple severe injuries, including ruptured intestines, multiple broken bones, and fractured ribs that punctured his lungs and spleen. |

As the Irish say…. "May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields…”

I like the way his two friends are standing over that massive overhang |

"... it might fall any second ..." That was complacency. He would have known he shouldn't be standing there. |

He must have been the world’s worst engineer. I wonder who will inherit the title now?

I think we should give him a break. He's clearly depressed.
