I counted at least 26 people down, many clearly dead. This is a pretty significant attack, and a shame as the Filipino people are amazing.

"Oh my gosh!" - She said it! While I personally loath food truck markets, there is zero excuse for that to happen... "Mental illness" or not. |

Re: Multiple Killed After SUV Driver Drove Into Festival Crowd in Vancouver
Everyone jumps to the "excuse" label when they hear "mental health". It's not an excuse, but if it's lead to this happening then it needs to be looked at. If there are gaps in the health system that are letting people like this slip through the cracks then burying our head in the sand every time isn't going to help. There is no excuse for this. But we need to understand the causes otherwise we're doomed to allow it to be repeated. Again and again. |

Re: Multiple Killed After SUV Driver Drove Into Festival Crowd in Vancouver
At least nine people were killed when a man drove through a crowd at a Filipino community festival in Vancouver on Saturday evening, Canadian police said. Police said they had arrested a 30-year-old Vancouver man at the scene, who was "known" to them. The suspect was initially chased down and held by people at the scene. A number of people were also injured. "At this time, we are confident that this incident was not an act of terrorism," Vancouver police said. |
