Re: Motorcyclist Was Split in Half After Collision
Now THIS accident I wish I could see on video... It must have been amazing. I’m sure he died immediately. The trauma was too close to his heart and aorta to sustain life for more than a second, maybe two... What a way to go. |

Shock is the body's gift to itself in cases like these. He knew what was happening, though, and the abject horror on his face is very disturbing.

Re: Motorcyclist Was Split in Half After Collision
Insightful commentary. Gracias. That's what I was thinking. The only reason I ask is because I see all the time on here where people are alive & conscious when you would think there was no way they could be (not to mention at least one beheading where the eyes move in a potential moment of consciousness before death). What I was really asking is could there have been a split second when he had some awareness that he had just been split in half? Basically, what are the physiological conditions that determine the length of time between some traumatic event & loss of consciousness? Of course, those conditions are different depending on the type of trauma. In this case, there is no visible head trauma. Would it then be rapid loss of blood flow to the brain that terminates consciousness or would it be something else? |

Re: Motorcyclist Was Split in Half After Collision
There are indeed a couple of videos here where a person has been cut in half and still very conscious. I believe that one person spoke about his last wishes. A person from India if I’m not mistaken. I would tend to agree that blood loss would be a strong factor in how long the person is conscious, and, as to them knowing they’ve been cut in half, sure. Why wouldn’t they? If they were conscious, going into shock, I think the person would understand what happened but due to that shock factor how much would it register as an, “Oh fuck! I’m no longer together anymore and will be dying soon!” That’s the big question that we may not be able to answer. But a person with enough self awareness I would think they’d know… |

Re: Motorcyclist Was Split in Half After Collision
I’m sure he would know. You know how the mind will slow things down when you get an adrenaline dump... Even if he died ‘instantly’, he was probably aware when he hit the pole. He must have hit REALLY hard because his rib cage was broken too, most people in this situation have been split at the waistline, where the body is almost all just flesh. |
