Taufik Pahrezi, a resident of Gang Sawo II No 03 Raya, Tegal Rejo Village, Medan Perjuangan District, Medan City, died after the Yamaha Aerox BK 4419 AII motorcycle he was riding hit a hole on Jalan Marindal, Patumbak District, Deli Serdang Regency. Patumbak Police Chief AKP Tommy Franata said the victim suffered severe injuries to the head after falling onto the shoulder of the road and entering the middle of a truck that was passing from the opposite direction.

"The victim suffered injuries to the head and died on the spot. Officers assisted by village officials took the body by ambulance to the Bhayangkara Level II Hospital in Medan," said Tommy

Tommy explained, initially Taufik drove a Yamaha Aerox from the direction of the coffee plantation, Patumbak District, to Simpang Marindal. At the scene of the incident, from the opposite direction came a Mitsubishi BK 8720 ME truck driven by Irfan Soni heading to Jalan Kebun Kopi. At that time, Taufik, who was driving at high speed, hit a hole in the middle of the road that was covered with puddles. As a result, the victim fell onto the right shoulder of the road and entered the middle of the truck that was passing from the opposite direction. After the incident, officers went down to the location to process the crime scene, check CCTV, secure evidence and ask for statements from a number of witnesses.
