Re: Motorcycle Racer Dies

I'm a track marshal & work MotoGP in Austin. As sad as this is, there's nothing else to be done. All of the riders accept the dangers that come with racing.
which is why 14 year olds shouldnt be riding these kinds of bikes? kid looks like hes not even in puberty yet

Re: Motorcycle Racer Dies

I participated in a drag race last Friday. Do you know how hard it is to run in heels?
I was asked to participate in a running competition for spastics. I said "fuck, I can win that!"

In order to compete at the pointy end in world championship roadracing nowadays, these kids start as young as 3-4 years old, racing pocket bikes on go kart tracks throughout Europe and asia. It wouldn't surprise me if he already had five or more seasons of racing under his belt.

Re: Motorcycle Racer Dies

Maybe they shouldn't race at all, maybe they should play video games.

He survived initial impact. They need more warning for upcoming riders when an accident like this occurs. I know there's only seconds of time to warn them..but the flags aren't enough

Nothing will happen. They will just keep allowing riders to get injured and die. Until it's somebody "important." This happens to Marc Marquez, everyone will be demanding accountability.

Parents won't allow their kids to race. They'll say "if this can happen to one of the best, it can happen to anyone ".

Not a 14 year old. At least not in the US. It’d be his parents who accepted the risk of losing the child. The child just gets to do whatever the parents let them or force them to do. AOC. In the US 14 isn’t old enough to legally accept a damn thing.
