I don't think so...looks like they had brain buckets on; not full face helmets, and some hits to the pavement break your neck/back anyway - no helmet would save you...

At 15 seconds you can clearly see the guys faceplant on the pavement without a helmet. Whats weird is the red blotch on his head after he stops rolling. It just looks too 'red' somehow, like his brains glow or the video was altered. The reaction of the people looks genuine enough. If they really wanted to mess with us, they could put a dummy on one bike with tomatoes for brains, the other bike tows it to speed and lets it ghost ride, dummy falls off, head explodes, instant internet sensation! But they probably wouldn't have the slow speed biker with the flag in the path of the ghost bike. I knew some guys that pushed a Santa Claus suit stuffed with tomatoes out of a helicopter onto a parking lot 100 feet below where kids were waiting for Santa to visit a store. They had a guy in a Santa suit wave first, before they dropped the dummy Santa. |

Nasty spill. Too hard to tell the extent of his injuries. It looks his head's cracked open when he's face down on the pavement, but he's also wearing a red jacket. I imagine it's pretty serious though!

His head is busted wide open and I think that is his wife or girlfriend that comes over crying and screaming.
