The pelvis breaks so badly that it rips open the pelvic floor and human bits meant to remain inside come on out for a visit. It usually tears into the bladder, rectum, intestines and other internal organs. Instant massive blood loss is the most serious complication associated with pelvic fractures and active haemorrhage remains the leading cause of death in open pelvic fractures. Massive pelvic haemorrhage may originate from the branches of the iliac artery and/or major pelvic veins, from the small arteries running within the fractured bone or from the pelvic venous plexus which wraps around and under the bladder which is usually the first organ expelled during an open pelvic injury.

One of my closest friends died this same way. He was heading north and speeding on his bike, and a woman was wanting to turn left to go south from a small street on the right off the main road. She misjudged his distance because he was going too fast. The police said when they got to his body, it had already been hollowed of blood. He had severe blood loss instantly. When I got to see him one last time in the hospital, he was covered but his face and shoulders, chest, what all still beautiful in perfect condition. Just some red scratches. The lower half I'm guessing looked like this guy's or similar to what you described. He was wearing a helmet as well but it did nothing for such a high speed accident. I never thought about how he lost so much blood, I obviously didn't really want to, but you made it clearer to me. so in a weird fucked up way, I'll say thank you!

Maybe the biker just suffered the ultimate raunch from banging/catching his nuts on the crossbar/handlebars as he slid off the seat at 80 mph. Happened to me a few times when I was 7 to 9 years old on my Schwinn Stingray. Hit something, slide forward off the banana seat and your pre-pubescent nuts get busted on the crossbar or gearshift. Pain you never forget...
