"Give me the tablet or I'll kill you," a mother shouts at her three-year-old daughter in Bahía Blanca, a city south of Buenos Aires.

In the video the mother repeats the warning several times, each time stronger, threatens to kick the girl and then picks her up by the hair and throws her on the ground.

The extreme violence exerted against the minor has provoked a strong commotion in Argentina, where there are numerous cases of child abuse, but few come to light.

Local authorities have reported on Monday that the video was recorded in December, before the complaint filed by the maternal grandmother of the girl to ask for their protection. Since then, the mother, 23 years old, does not have custody and receives psychological assistance.

"Since before Christmas, they have lived with their paternal grandparents," an official told. "The girl is fine," says the official.

The baby that is seen in the video, is of another father, and was transferred to one of the childhood institutions of the home while the family environment is investigated to see if there is someone suitable to take care of her.

"The mother is very distressed, recognizes what she did,". The woman, who was a mother for the first time at age 17, lived a childhood marked by the violence of her father.
