Monk Commits Suicide by Train
Thailand. The victim has been identified as P.S.S., age 55. The man had just returned from a hospital for treatment and medicine of an unknown illness and was on his way back to his temple. Police report he may have been suffering from depression.

Re: Monk Commits Suicide by Train
Yeah... "may have"... I "may" be going out on a limb here, but I think those police are on to something... In all seriousness though, monks usually kill themselves by self-immolation from what I've seen on DR, but that's usually as a protest against something political etc. This guy clearly just wanted shit to end, and to end quickly. (If he'd have commenced self-immolation moments before the train hit, I'd say "well done!" |

Re: Monk Commits Suicide by Train
Even though I read the word train in the title, after seeing monk and suicide in the same sentence I was still expecting to see some immolation action lol. I'm curious as to what he was holding in his raised hand, and why he outstretched his arms like that before laying down on the tracks. "Police report (says) he may have been suffering from depression." |

Re: Monk Commits Suicide by Train
Maybe the "unknown illness" was something horrible and fatal, so he just took out the suffering part. |
