Indonesia. A morning that should have been filled with rice planting activities turned into a tragedy for S. (76) and her son, P. (45).

Both were heading to the rice fields on Thursday, Sept 10 around 5:00 AM.

However, both experienced a tragic fate. As they entered the rice field area, both were electrocuted by an electric mouse trap that had been set up to control pests.

The electric trap was reportedly owned by S. (50), a local resident who is also a neighbor of the two victims.

The son suffered burns on the middle finger of his left hand and his mom suffered burns between her thumb and index finger on her right hand, as well as a burn on herright thigh measuring approximately 6 x 2 inches.

The officers also secured several items suspected to be related to the rat trap, including a roll of electric wire approximately 10 meters long and a bamboo pole approximately 50 centimeters long.

Based on the initial examination, both victims died as a result of being electrocuted by the mouse trap. No other signs of violence were found, police said.

Currently, the Police is still conducting further investigations into the installation of the electric trap, including to determine the sequence of events and the accountability aspects related to the incident that caused the deaths of two residents.

This incident serves as a reminder that the installation of electric mouse/rat traps should not be done carelessly, as it can be dangerous and even lead to loss of life.

Reports say that mice have had enough of those traps and are now using them on humans.

[Willfidd]

They were getting their grain and protein in that field with that rat trap I bet.

Vicious Mortimer turned the tables on them. And turned the "lectricity" on them, as well!

I’m thinking that trap was effective.

Electric rat trap in a field underwater. That’s using your brain.

[rhubarb_king]

Those mice must be bloody HUGE, if killing them requires a current that will take down 2x humans!

[DarkSighted]

"Build a better mousetrap, and the mice will beat a path to your door."
TO WATCH YOU DIE.

[Schrecken13]

That must be one hell of a mouse trap! I've got my fingers snapped in mouse traps before but I've never had to worry about being electrocuted...

Indonesian mouse trap and mousetrap with my mother were slightly different
