Mariachi “Jalisco de Ensenada” mourning its members who were aboard the Sprint-type minibus that was brutally hit by a tractor trailer leaving 7 dead.

Three of the seven deceased Mariachi musicians in the tragic road accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon on the free highway to El Arenal, near the town of Santa Cruz del Astillero, were identified.

J.L, known to his friends as “El P”, He was one of the fatal victims. He worked as a harpist for the mariachi “Jalisco de Ensenada”.

Another of the deceased was identified as Á. J, a mariachi guitar player, as well as E. J, director of the musical group. His 35-year-old wife is in serious condition. She was admitted to Western Medical Center, where she is being treated for several fractures. She is reported to be in serious but stable condition.

Among the fatalities are also the uncle and mother-in-law of E. J, director of the mariachi.

The musicians and their wives traveled from Ensenada, Baja California, and went on vacation to Tequila, Jalisco. The rest of the musicians were traveling in another vehicle that was not involved in the accident.

N. R. G. is a 30-year-old man who survived the terrible accident. He fights for his life and is treated at the Occidental Medical Center. His wife died between the twisted iron bars.

It was Tuesday afternoon, when a tractor trailer apparently suffered a mechanical failure, running out of brakes while traveling on the freeway towards El Arenal. Upon arrival, near the town of Santa Cruz del Astillero, it crashed into the Sprint bus, manned by 10 people, members of the mariachi and their families. The minibus first hit the back of a tractor trailer that was slowing down in front of them before the other truck crashed into them leaving the minibus pancaked.

That’s fucked up. The driver of the truck should have been blaring his horn without letting off… he could have warned other drivers of impending doom… I hope he rots in jail for the rest of his miserable fucking life.
