Military Police Corporal Shot and Killed After Struggle During Street Robbery
A Military Police corporal was killed in the early afternoon of Tuesday (1), in Belém. The policeman was in plain clothes when he became a victim of an armed robbery. The victim was identified as T.M.d.C, 28 years old. He had been in the military for four years and served in the General Operations Department of the PM. According to preliminary information from witnesses, the victim had about R$30,000 and was on his way to a car dealership. However, there is no news that the money would have been stolen. The Military Police Command issued a note of condolence stating that "it is in solidarity with the police's family and friends". |

So was it armed robbery, or? If his money wasn’t stolen, what DID he take? Besides the guys life, that is! I think it looks more like an assassination than a robbery. He was military police... |

If so, then why get so close to the guy and struggle with him? The attacker could have shot at him from a distance.

Could have had the chance if he had used both his hands to take hold of the one hand with the gun. Then at least using his energy on disarming the killer, bite him to the bone, groin kick, headbutt. I just think that would surprise a robber and give you much needed nanoseconds to get that gun in your hands. |

~ Experienced thieves can usually spot some hot shot walking with alot of money ~ Too bad the victim was so proud he had finally saved up enough money to buy a much desired car that he became too obvious ~ However, if the money wasn't stolen then it was personal |

Situational awareness failure. The victim should not have been walking along a public sidewalk blabbing on his cell phone. In hindsight, the vic should have tried to smash the gunner's neck with a knee drop after the throw. Looked like the vic was trying to grapple or drag the gunner instead. |
