Mexican Police Officer Kills Himself by Jumping Off Bridge
León, Guanajuato, Mexico

An on-duty police officer, 27-year-old Orlando Maciel, killed himself by jumping from a highway overpass. Despite pleas from his colleagues, Orlando made the jump, and died instantly upon impact.

Shortly before the incident, Orlando had posted a video of himself on social media:
Many of you already know me - we share stories or anecdotes. I want to give you a piece of advice. Please, always make your mental health a priority. Don't let anyone mess with your head, and don't let your emotions depend on anyone else. Love yourselves, take good care of yourselves, spend time with your families, and value your own worth.

I want to ask something of those who cared for me: please don't be sad about what I've done. I have been suffering from a silent depression for a long time, one that eventually consumed me, and I ended up making the worst possible choices. But now I am at peace. I am resting.

Finally, the noise in my mind has stopped. Hold on to the good memories and the happy anecdotes, so that whenever you think of me, you can say "That Maciel was a good guy".

I'm certainly no fan of cops either, but he seemed so sad , but at the end of his video he seemed relieved. Cried when he talked. As a person with mental illness myself. Please see your doctor, you can get help. I did
