I see your point and raise another. Yes cops have shown increased aggression(in the form of tasers and guns) over the safer pepper spray and baton route; but I suspect it’s an image issue. Rodney King made American cops look like cavemen with clubs. Tasers don’t leave bruises(hell pepper spray shows more visible damage). They’re afraid of looking like they are beating on citizens. Every time a cop uses brute force to take someone down they call it excessive(probably because half the time they do body slams that look straight out of the octagon/wwe). But even when its a by the books takedown people ask if that was necessary? Couldn’t you use a taser they say? You can’t win until this countries police image problem is complete re-evaluated and overhauled. |

The problem is, sometimes, things happen, like this woman being mentally ill and acting like a jackass, tasing the officer, pissing him off because she's fighting and tased him, so he shoots her out of anger. Fuck that bitch. His life wasn't in danger. He had plenty of times where he made distance and she was like a turtle on her back. He could have shot her to immobilize and detained her. But he was pissed off, and murdered her, because he could. Because "preliminary investigation" is nothing more than words to suffice the general public, when they already have their minds made up from the start. |
