Well, yes, not going to argue with that. But it requires more precision and effort for it to be a deadly weapon. Unlike a knife with a cutting edge that causes damage being dragged along a surface as well as stabbing, a screwdriver only really become dangerous in a precision stab. Two cops really could have body-tackled him and restrained the arm with the screwdriver with minimal injury. Still, that said, fuck mentally ill people who are violent. Shoot them. Be done with it. |

There is no such thing as 'precision' stabbing. Not in the real world. Possibly...in the movies. Agreed. The family should have taken care of this situation many years before this happened. No need for cops to be injured or killed because of an irresponsible family. And btw, the same Crazy Mother that setup this situation with the cops, is the very one that drove her son insane in the first place. This is the way she had devised to get rid of the son she had been carefully dismantling for many years. She probably tired of her sadistic game and decided to offload him as the results of her own work had now become a burden. Cost/Benefit He = Schizophrenic She = Schizogenic The cops should have shot the Crazy Mother too. |

To me, it seems the officers calmly asked him to put the screwdriver down. His mother is the one screaming and escalating the situation.
