yeah.. I'm pretty sure that if you're in a car manufactured within the last 50 years then you shouldn't be able to turn the ignition off when it's in gear.. but even if it were possible to do that (it isn't) it'd likely only occur as an obvious solution to someone if they found out that they were going to die and how it was going to happen some time in advance so they'd have enough time to come up with a correct strategy to avert their death and practice doing it so they just might be anything other than too fucking terrified and bewildered to act when the scenario played out.. OR to someone who has experienced this exact situation so many times in the past that they know exactly what to do and it's become second nature reacting with that level of precision and decisiveness as it happens..

to have the kind of savvy which comes with prior knowledge or veteran experience here you'd need to be capable of dying more than once (this guy probably wasn't because it's been like 2 months and he's still dead from the first time) or you'd need for one of your asshole friends/family members who'd believe that saving your life is the absolute shit to stumble upon the secret to time travel. if they waste their time doing it, it'd have to be as neat to them as seeing the dinosaurs alive firsthand, preventing hitler, searching for jesus christ or gleefully reenacting the film Black Knight as Martin Lawrence et al (your Grandma, or someone who thinks like her). It's probably safe to say the first person that travels in time isn't going to be a blood relative of this guy because he wasn't warned..
