Whenever I work on any dump bed or hydraulic arm, boom, or bucket I always have at least two very strong supports. You can't be too safe when putting yourself in these positions. He must have knocked the pin out as the piston could not collapse that fast from losing oil. You can see the bed twist a little just before it falls. He must have had it supported because it's almost impossible to knock a pin out if it's under load. I think he just picked supports too weak for the job or didn't have them in right and they slipped.
