Actually most of that was taken out of context and the whole using fiber optics to bring UV light into the respiratory tract does actually show promise and might in fact end up being useful for everything from killing viruses to fighting cancer. Hindsight being what it is and so much of the covid societal harms being iatrogenic maybe more ‘so people died?’ (rather than ‘OMG the sky is falling!’) might’ve done us some good.

The leadership we’ve seen from both parties has been quite bad after recent disasters, but I do agree that the Maui fires were largely a state thing (though it would’ve been tough for Biden to make himself look any worse, and sharing a party with the state officials that are DEFINITELY responsible didn’t help him any there.)
