Man's Legs Both Destroyed at the Knee After Being Struck by Car
Sihanoukville, Cambodia. The deceased was transporting a pork trailer when he was run over by a man recklessly driving a "luxury sedan".

Looks like the lens for the headlight is embedded in the portion previously known as his right knee.

Re: Man's Legs Both Destroyed at the Knee After Being Struck by Car
If it did that damage to him it can't have much of a safety rating and can't be any sort of high-end car. My Jaguar XF has a pedestrian protection system that includes soft bumpers and a sensor to detect when you hit a pedestrian (really, not kidding). If the car detects a pedestrian strike it fires twin airbags at the rear edges of the hood (just in front of the bottom of the windscreen) to pop the hood up (the opposite direction to normal) to cushion the impact and reduce head injury. The owners manual has a fantastic diagram explaining how this works, it depects the car hitting a pedestrian. It's my favourite page the the whole book! There is probably an optional feature available where the car will also pop out a tray, aircon ducts and entertainment system controls for the pedestrian too ... I always resented the PPS because there was a few times dumb pedestrians got in my way and I had to avoid hitting them because after the PPS activates the car needs to be towed and it's an expensive remediation. |

If he had only survived, he would have had an amazing dancing carrier...
