Definitely career ending injury...at least out for the season..

May have been a botched suicide..I know a guy with one leg...he changed his mind at the last second on a train track..lost one leg.

Re: Manila Train Mutilation, The Man is Still Alive

OK, how can I live so long with the femoral arteries severed? Did the train pinch them closed? I dont get it.
I would say the sheer weight of the train could provide some compression that might reduce blood flow. A clean amputation is desirable only in a hospital where the blood loss can be controlled and additional fluids given. Outside of that situation, a clean amputation (ie. without crushing / compression type injuries) can allow a massive loss of blood which can lead rapidly to death.
Personally I would give this guy a more than 50 % chance of survival, even better than that if he get's to a hospital within the hour (which is a long shot to be honest) , but the moving stumps, lack of torrential blood flow , and his apparent state of awareness are all good signs he might survive this.
