Man and Woman Gunned Down at an Asian Restaurant in Monterey Park
The alleged killer of a man and woman gunned down at an Asian restaurant in Monterey Park was taken into custody Wednesday, authorities said. J. Y, 38, of Monterey Park, was detained by a task force of investigators at the Mexican border on Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Y, also known as Y J, is believed to have been the husband of the woman killed in Monday's attack, who was identified as L. L. W, 36. The male victim was identified by the Los Angeles County coroner's office as Z. L, 37, of Pomona. The shooting occurred around 6:30 p.m. Monday at a restaurant in the 500 block of West Garvey Avenue, east of Atlantic Boulevard. The victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body and were pronounced dead at the scene. During the course of the investigation, detectives identified the suspect and attempted to locate him. Homicide detectives, with the assistance of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, and the FBI/LAPD Fugitive Task Force, detained the suspect at the Mexican border Tuesday. "The suspect was transported to (the) Monterey Park Police Department, where he was arrested for the murders. Detectives believe suspect Y. is the husband of victim L. L. W, and the father of two children they share -- daughters age 9 and 12. The motive is unknown at this time and the search for the weapon continues.'' Earlier, the sheriff said he did not believe the killings were a hate crime. "Based on the preliminary information, it does not appear to be any random act or hate crime,'' he said. "It appears that this individual targeted these individuals.'' The shooting occurred at the Music BBQ Bar. A witness saw the suspect leabing in a white car and filmed it. The sheriff's department was assisting the Monterey Park Police Department with the investigation. |

wow, that was pretty cool to see that girl fight back a little like that. looks like she didn't think the shooter would actually shoot her tho, that hesitation to look at the guy dying cost her life. people at the other table decided to stay put and take their chances, lol. |

That was almost comical. Dude walks into the restaurant OBVIOUSLY minding his own business....la dee da dee da.....reaches into his random paper bag and starts shooting Hmm...this makes me remember that we've had....what is it, three or four mass shootings in the United States within the past week? Pretty soon, we won't even need Mexico or Brazil for entertainment. |

Jeesh, I hadn't even seen the mother (I assume) and the child against the far wall. Man....what an introduction to the horrors of the real world. But props to the mom for staying calm and shielding her son. She didn't panic, she didn't run off and leave her kid there, she held him until it was all over. |

Re: Man and Woman Gunned Down at an Asian Restaurant in Monterey Park
More Information through Translation: The shooting occurred in Monterey Park, California, USA on the 5th. The suspect shooter J. Y. was arrested by the Mexican border investigation team on the 6th . This case has caused various reposts and discussions on the Internet. Some of them claimed to be the former roommate of the deceased L. Z., the lover of the cheating married woman, saying that L. Z. had a rough life and had a marriage. However, the claims and motives circulating on the Internet have not yet been confirmed by the police. This person who claimed to be L. Z.'s former roommate said that he hadn't contacted him for many years, and he didn't expect to know that his death turned out to be in the news. L. Z. had been working hard to earn money during his lifetime. He finally married a wife from the countryside in China and sent his wife from China to the United States . As a result, the woman got the green card and divorced and ran away. The second love affair after divorce was to meet the deceased L. L. W., the cheating married woman. I didn't expect that the other party was still a married woman. As a result, she even lost her life by getting shot by her still married husband. |

One day she's walking behind a water buffalo in China, the next, she's being dazzled by the big city lights of the Monterey Park ghetto. Almost like Watts, but without the glitter. No wonder her head was turned by some smooth talking pendejo. Why, they even have PARKING SPACES there! |
