Why the hell was he in traffic like that.

At first I thought it was just another motorcycle rider.
He was trying to be slick like Marty McFly and get a free ride, but he made a colossal miscalculation.

That truck must be seriously under powered if it can’t run over a wheelchair

Re: Man in Wheelchair Crushed to Death by a Dump Truck

Buddy of mine in Albuquerque went in front of a truck like that at the gas station when we were in high school, except his handles hooked onto the grill. He went for a ride, like an 18-wheeler hood ornament. Almost got driven past state lines before a police officer finally pulled the truck over. Apparently several people called it in, saying there was a man on a wheelchair stuck to the front of a truck, going down the freeway, but they had some difficulty finding it. Trucker had no idea, and my friend went in the ride of his life.

His parents ended up thanking the wheelchair company for saving his life, as neither the handles not the wheels broke off during his trip down the highway. IIRC they even got sponsorship afterwards and some gifts from the whole ordeal.

Sometimes you make the news. Sometimes you make DocumentingReality, I guess.

This story sounds familiar. Why was your friend in the wheelchair?
