When i was in Finland for a vacation, the automated voice on the trains always said in a warm, fuzzy&calm tone: please mind the gap between the train and the platform  now i know what he meant...

Inebriated, and tried to get on the train by forcing the doors open, but fell! Not certain if the doors did suddenly open or not though...  |

I am casting my vote for drunk also... Immediately after he falls into that space he looks like he's having an "Oh Shit" Moment! He appears to be feebly attempting to get out of his predicament, but in his impaired state it's too little too late.
