"Confront"? He had a goddam camera. His gun never left its holster until ICE pulled it out. The only thing he reached for was putting his empty hand out to help a woman they had just knocked over, for which he was pepper sprayed.

My father was an LEO for 30 years and retired. He was also a veteran. He passed away last January, coming up to the one year on the 29th. You know what he never did in his entire career in one of the most violent cities in the United States? He never fired his service weapon at anyone, not once. He trained in the academy for months. Then, when he retired, he was a fire arms instructor and trained new recruits in the academy. So no, those are not "officers" and they do not get my respect. EVER. I can not even put them in the same fucking arena as my father.

1. You don't know what your dad actually did for 30 years, even in a "violent city". Could have been a desk jockey or hung out in the back to avoid danger.
