They had to do CPR even though they knew it was pointless to do it.
This is true. Otherwise, the liability falls on the police as showing "lack of effort." It is sad that American society is so sensitive now that performances have to be made, especially when all the cell phones are recording.

Why are there places like this in the US? I know poor areas are common in western countries but it seems the ones in the US are far more violent? Seems equal to places like Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia etc in some areas.
