Man Shot Dead Nine Minutes After Being Released From Prison
Sapé, Paraíba state, Brazil The victim, identified as G.V.M.A., 28 years old, had just been released from prison and was killed about 200 meters from the city's Regional Prison. The release permit for the man indicated a departure time from the prison at 8:30 a.m., while the security footage that captured his death shows that the incident occurred at 8:39 a.m. According to the Military Police, witnesses reported that a pair approached the victim and fired multiple shots before fleeing. A team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) was called, but upon arrival at the scene, they confirmed that he was already deceased. Furthermore, according to the police, the victim was believed to be a member of a criminal organization involved in drug trafficking in Cruz do Espírito Santo and nearby regions. No one has been arrested, and the case will be investigated by the Civil Police. |

Chances are that he didn't get where he is today - a bloody face lying on the sidewalk riddled with bullets - being a nice guy. I doubt prison reformed him but who knows for sure?  |
