John Cassio, 44, claimed responsibility for the crime and claimed he committed it to protect his family, which was being threatened by the victim. Pereira escaped a shootout with police on friday and infiltrated a woman's house along with another accomplice.

He warned her about not reporting the police. the day after, while in the bakery with the woman (identified as Eva Cassio), her brother John Cassio surprised the victim and shot him in the head making sure he was dead with 2 extra shots to the head once he was down.
